Gwendoline May (Fendley) Best's Obituary
Gwendoline May (Fendley) Best, 79, of 11371 Tullis Ave., Alliance, died on Sunday, October 2, 2005, at 10:50 p.m. at her son s residence. Born in Poole, Dorset, England, on May 22, 1926, she had lived in Alliance since 1947. Gwen is survived by a daughter, Christine Kay (William) Dennison of Alliance; two sons, Terry (Eileen) Best and Lynn "Bud" Best, all of Alliance; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a life-long best friend, Margaret Allen of England. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Charles Best on October 23, 1990 (they were married on July 23, 1945); a son, Tony Lee Best; a grandson, James Best; and her parents, Frederick William and Lilly Flora (Douglas) Fendley. Graveside funeral services will be held at the Alliance City Cemetery on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
