Gregory "Greg" Carli's Obituary
Gregory "Greg" Carli, 64, of Alliance, went home to be with his Lord after fighting a courageous battle, on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 4:40 am at Altercare of Alliance. He was born on March 7, 1950 in Alliance, Oh to William J. and Betty L. (Parks) Carli and lived in Alliance for all of his life. A 1968 graduate of Alliance High School, he later graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kent State University. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a Sunday School teacher and a Eucharistic Minister and also instructed new Altar Servers. Greg was also active in the production of the children's church plays during Easter and Christmas. Greg retired as a greenskeeper from Oak Grove Golf Course in Atwater in August 2013 after 22 years of service. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed golf. He was passionate in watching the TV show Jeopardy. Greg is survived by his four brothers, Forrest Forry (Linda Smith) Carli of Alliance, OH, Terry P. (Diana) Carli of Homeworth, OH, Douglas D. (Karen) Carli of Alliance, OH, and John K. (Patty) Carli of Moravia, NY; a sister, Cynthia Cindi Meiring of Alliance, OH; and many nieces and nephews & great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Carli Sr.; mother, Betty L. Carli; a brother, William J. Carli Jr. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11:30 am, with Msgr. James R Kolp, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Online condolences can be given at www.sharerfuneralhome.com.
