Grace J. Ganni's Obituary
Grace J. Ganni, of Alliance, died on Friday, December 22, 2006, at 7:48 a.m. at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. Grace was born in Rossville, Ohio and lived in Alliance most of her life. Mrs. Ganni was the manager of the housewares department of the former Super Center. She was also former co-owner of various restaurants with her husband, Phillip Ganni, Sr. Grace was a member of the former Ladies of the Christopher Columbus Society. She enjoyed gardening and had a passion for her family. Mrs. Ganni is survived by two twin daughters, Patricia (Jerry) Fields of Palmento, FL, and Constance (Larry) Tissier of Parrish, FL; two sons, Phillip J. (Mary Lou) Ganni, Jr., of Alliance, and Gregory (Lisa) Ganni of Alliance; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nellie Marcello of FL; several nieces and nephews; and a beloved dog, "Cody". Preceding her in death was her husband, Phillip J. Ganni, Sr., on February 16, 1983, whom she married on February 17, 1948; a son, Gene Zumbar; her parents, Frank and Carmella (Kenamo) Long; three sisters, Mary Daldos, Angeline Martin, and Katie Smith; and two brothers, Joe Long and Jimmy Long. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, December 28, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery following cremation.
