Glen O. Rodkey 's Obituary
Glen O. Rodkey, 86, of Alliance, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:50 pm at his home in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on May 3, 1930 in Limaville, Ohio to Blair Glen and Silphia (Villars) Rodkey, he lived in Alliance for all of his life.
A veteran of Korean Conflict, he served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 166, and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1036.
Glen was employed at Alliance Machine Co. as a welder and fitter and retired in 1985 after 35 years of service.
He was a member of Portage Summit Gun Club, and a life member of the Roma Society.
Glen was also owner of Rodkey's Small Engine Repair and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and mowing the lawn.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Olive V. Hensley of Alliance, OH; two daughters, Connie Sue (Bradley Vernon) Duncan of Olive Hill, KY, and Tracy Lynn Meek of Alliance, OH; son, Bruce W. “Rocky” (Becky) Rodkey Sr. of Alliance, OH; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Patricia A. (Oyster) Rodkey, whom he married on May 9, 1948 and she passed on August 23, 1992; his son, Glen A. “Bud” Rodkey; 1 grandson, his parents, Blair Glen and Silphia Rodkey; and an infant brother.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 1:30 pm at Alliance City Cemetery Chapel, Burial with military honors, will immediately follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
