Gladys Lucille (Beck) Wilkinson's Obituary
Gladys Lucille (Beck) Wilkinson, 77, of 449 E. Main St., Alliance, died on Monday, May 20, 2002 at 5:07 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born in Sebring, Ohio, on September 8, 1924, and had lived in the Alliance area all of her life. She had worked at the former Taylorcraft, several area nursing homes, and Gresinger & Sons of Hartville, and was a driver for the Alliance Review. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a Sunday School Teacher. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Marvin Francies of Alliance, Mary and Charles Dickson of Alliance, and Lova and Donald Cooper, Sr. of Alliance; two sons, Fred Allen Wilkinson of Alliance, and Michael Wilkinson of Alliance; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Earl Taylor of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred D. Wilkinson on May 27, 1959; two sons, Danny and Norman; her parents, Clarence and Julia (Baker) Beck; three grandsons; and her lifelong companion, Howard Weber. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 23, 2002, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Thomas of the First Baptist Church and Pastor Herbert Smith of The Home Mission, officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
