Gladys V. "Babe" Dillon's Obituary
Gladys V. "Babe" Dillon, 88, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at 9:17 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in New Baltimore, OH, on September 2, 1917, Babe had lived in the Alliance area most of her life. Mrs. Dillon was previously employed by the Hartville Basket Factory, Minerva Dairy, Keener Rubber, and Lawson s Dairy Mart. Gladys was a member of the Church of the Brethren. She was also a member of the U.S. Steelworkers #2211, the Beechwood Pioneers Club, and the A.A.R.P. She is survived by her son, Ron Dillon of Alliance; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Dillon in 1992 (they were married on June 5, 1937); her daughter, Donna Joan Tarbet; her parents, John H. and Ida Estelle (Hill) Duell; two sisters, Ida Irene Duell and Beulah M. "Bootie" Snure; and two brothers, Russell Duell and Raymond E. Duell. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, November 4 2005, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, November 5, 2005, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday November 5, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Clif Baum of the Cornerstone Christian Church of Alliance officiating. Internment will follow at the East Nimishillen Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
