Gerald E. "Jerry" Woolf's Obituary
Gerald E. "Jerry" Woolf, 87, of Alliance, died on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 11:45 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on February 18, 1920 in Sebring, and was a resident of the Alliance and Sebring areas for all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Woolf retired from the Alliance City Hospital, where he was employed in the Engineering Department. He was formerly employed at Hartzell Market in Sebring, Boyd & Hawkins Roofing and Alliance Wall. Jerry enjoyed fishing, bowling, carpentry, watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians and he especially enjoyed his coffee. He also enjoyed attending family gatherings. He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Kress of Sebring; a granddaughter, Deanna Kress; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Julia (Erchick) Woolf on March 20, 2005, whom he married on June 21, 1941; a son, Gerald Woolf, Jr.; his parents, Arlie L. and Jennie (Leeper) Woolf; three sisters, Marjorie Schopfer, Dorothy Schneider, Mary Louise Natale; infant sister, Joyce Ann; and two brothers, Forest Woolf and Arlie "Babe" Woolf. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
