Gerald Klusch's Obituary
Gerald George Klusch, 71, of State Route 30, was found Friday, November 18, 2011 following his disappearance on September 29, 2011. Mr. Klusch was born June 2, 1940 in Alliance, Ohio, the son of the late George and Irene (Keller) Klusch, and had lived in the Lisbon area since 1980. Gerald was a member of the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church, and will be fondly remembered as a business owner, an entrepreneur, an engineer, a manager, a farmer, and as an activist. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish with his children and grandchildren. He was a graduate of Alliance High School; The Ohio State University, where he received a degree in Ceramic Engineering; and Bowling Green State University, where he received a Masters of Business Administration. He worked as a project engineer for Owens Corning Fiberglas, Glass technology Research and Development in Granville, Ohio; was a partner in the East Ohio Machinery Company; President of Alliance Technical Service; President of Alliance Staffing; CEO of Bozo Corporation; a Farmer; Secretary of the Canton Chapter of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology; member of the Grandville Conservation Club; the Punta Gorda Tea Party; the Punta Gorda Audibon Society; the Punta Gorda Elks; the Guilford Lake Civic Association; and the Salem Golf Club. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Leah M. (Gahr) Klusch, whom he married April 1, 1967; daughter, Katherine Jean Klusch of Lisbon; son, Ryan George (Kellie) Klusch of Canton; grandchildren, Kendra, McKenna, and Carson Klusch of Canton; sister, Nancy (Robert) Bettini of Gainesville, Virginia; sister-in-law, Becky Klusch of Louisville, Kentucky; aunt, Mariam Geist of Sebring; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his daughter, Robyn Marie Klusch; brother, Kenneth Klusch; Uncle August Geist; Uncle John Klusch; Aunt Roene Klusch; and Aunt Joan Snyder. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church, 111 East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, with the Rev. Mark R. Wilds and Pastor Jason Strong of the Zion Reformed Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Lisbon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 South Union Ave, Alliance, Ohio; and from 1 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm, Friday, December 2, 2011 at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church. Friends may also visit Saturday from 10am until the time of service at the church.
