Gerald Greavu's Obituary
Gerald V. Greavu, 75, of Alliance, passed away suddenly and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 10:35 am at his home in Alliance.
Born on July 6, 1948 in Canton, to Nick and Josephine (Coladonato) Greavu, he lived in Alliance most of his life.
Gerald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a 1966 graduate of McKinley High School where he played on the golf team.
After high school, he served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and received the Purple Heart.
Gerald was employed at LTV Steel and retired after more than 30 years of service.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela (Gary Cooper III) Harmon of Canton; his mother, Josephine Greavu of North Canton; a sister, Linda Greavu of North Canton; and several nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Carol A. (Porrazzo) Greavu, whom he married on April 11, 1969 and who died on January 13, 2021; and his father, Nick Greavu.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 1 pm – 2 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. His Funeral Service will begin at 2 pm. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
