George E. Sanor's Obituary
George E. Sanor, 89, of Homeworth, died on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at 8:28 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. George was born in North Georgetown on September 4, 1916, and lived most of his life in the Homeworth area. Mr. Sanor was the founder of the Ohio Drill & Tool Company in 1948 and the founder of the Homeworth Sales and Service in 1950. Both businesses are in full force employing 65 area residents. George was a member of the Homeworth Lions, the Alliance B.P.O. Elks #467, and the Homeworth Historical Society. He was an avid auction goer for the past 29 years. He is survived by a son-in-law, David "Bud" Matz of Homeworth; a daughter-in-law, Ali Matz Morgan of Sebring; four grandchildren, Daniel L. Matz of Homeworth, Connie M. Hallman of Alliance, Ronald D. Matz of Homeworth, and David L. Matz, II of Homeworth; eight great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Mae Buckman of Minerva, Alice Martig of Beloit, Bernice Blair of North Benton, and Evelyn Romigh of North Georgetown; two brothers, Floyd Sanor of Alliance and Ray Sanor of Beloit; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen F. (Thomas) Sanor in 1971; his daughter, Beverly L. Sanor Matz in 1968; and his parents, Earl and Bessie (Stoffer) Sanor. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 27, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
