George Pinter's Obituary
George Pinter, 86, of Alliance, died on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 7:33 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on March 25, 1921 in Lexington, Ohio, he had lived in Alliance all of his life. A veteran of World War II, he had served our country in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Sebring VFW, Post 6730. Mr. Pinter retired from GM Lordstown Plant, where he served as an electrician for 25 years. He was a member of the Alliance B.P.O. Elks Lodge. In his free time, he enjoyed electronics, radios and computers. Survivors include his wife, Doreen (Eddy) Pinter, whom he married on May 14, 1943; a brother-in-law, Charles Dague of Alliance; several nieces, nephews & cousins; and many friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Bozo Henry and Mary (Leinviber) Pinter; a sister, Betty Gerback; and two brothers, Henry Pinter and Joe Pinter. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Joseph A. Peters, officiating. Entombment, with Military Honors, provided by the Sebring VFW Post, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
