George A. Paxson's Obituary
George A. Paxson, 88, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:10 p.m. at Canterbury Villa of Alliance to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born on November 11, 1925 in Salem, Ohio to Chester and Emily (Barker) Paxson and lived in the Salem and Alliance areas all of his life. A veteran of World War II, he served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from B & W Tubular Products after 32 years of service. George is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane (Frederick) Paxson, his three sons, Eric (Tammy) Paxson of Alliance, Greg Paxson of Akron, and Kevin Paxson of Zephrhills, FL; his daughter, Sandra (Bob) Schaub of Rincon, GA; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Herrington; a daughter, Carol; a grandson, James Paxson; two sisters, Avien Houts and Joanne Sechler; and three brothers, Alfred, Homer, and Harold Paxson. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Larry Grow, of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Interment, with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
