George B. Haskins' Obituary
George B. Haskins, Jr., 88, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at 9:43 a.m. at the Crandall Medical Center. Born in Cleveland on January 26, 1917, Mr. Haskins lived in the Alliance area most of his life. He was a graduate of Wakeman High School, attended Otterbein College and the U.S., Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Mr. Haskins retired as Executive Vice President of Transue & Williams and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, and the former Bethany Presbyterian Church. He was father of Barbara Clough of Akron; grandfather of Bruce A. (Elizabeth) Clough; Gregory H. (Kimberly) Clough, Randy W. (Caroline) Clough and David M. (Susan) Clough; great-grandfather of Katie, Anne, Janet, Margaret, Nicole, Nolan, Mason, Anna, Macrae and Macy. Preceding him in death was his wife, Margaret W. Peggy (Wallace) Haskins on June 11, 2001 (they were married on February 24, 1938); his parents, George and Sarah (Bacon) Haskins; a son-in-law, Bruce K. Clough; and a sister, Betty McClaflin. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. William Sadler officiating. Internment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
