George F. Gainor's Obituary
George F. “Birdie” Gainor, 85, of Alliance went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
He was born October 1, 1938 in Alliance to George and Jean (Dregich) Gainor.
George was a graduate of Alliance High School in the Class of 1956.
Immediately following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served our country from 1956 -1959.
George was employed at B & W Tubular Products as a machine operator.
He was a member of B.P.O. Elks, Lodge #467 and was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Country Club. George was an avid golfer and was a Coach for the Alliance Hot Stove League.
He loved taking care of his yard and flowers.
A great husband and father, he loved his family and spending time with them.
Those left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, his wife, Celeste (Trunzo) Gainor, whom he married on October 3, 1959; his daughter, Gina Gainor Long; his son, Michael (Darcey) Gainor; his granddaughter, Morgan; grandson, Zachary (Courtnae); his two great-granddaughters, Ava and Elliana; a brother-in-law, Anthony "Tony" Trunzo; a sister-in-law, Rose Conrad; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his father, George Gainor; his mother, Jean Gainor Liberti; and step-father, Armando Liberti.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
