George M. Brandani's Obituary
George M. Brandani, 90, of Sebring, died on Monday, August 20, 2007, at 11:28 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on November 12, 1916 in Fredericktown, PA, and lived in the Alliance and Sebring areas for most of his life. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, George had previously worked at Alliance Clay Products for over 20 years and retired from the American Steel Foundry. Mr. Brandani was a member of Christopher Columbus Society, the Dante Alighieri Society, where he was the manager for seven years and a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. A member of the Alliance Senior Citizens Center and a charter member of their chorus, George enjoyed helping with and playing bingo and also making popcorn at the center. George, along with his wife, Frances, had previously operated a private catering service, catering to many area weddings. In recent years, they had a sausage stand at Carnation Days in the Park. George is survived by his companion, Mona Floor; five nieces, Marlene Ely, Geraldine Aellig, Barbara Lozier, Virginia Maceluck and Sarah Allworth; and several grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Bonafede) Brandani on June 2, 2002 whom he married on November 25, 1954; his parents, Anthony and Arminda (Tintore) Brandani; two sisters, Leona Pelamati and Rena Usack; and two brothers, Sam Brandani and Joseph "Babs" Brandani. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
