Gazella E. Peloso's Obituary
Gazella E. Peloso, 93, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at 10:35 a.m. at Canterbury Villa of Alliance. She was born on February 2, 1915 in Empire, Ohio and lived in Alliance most of her life. Mrs. Peloso was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also a member of their Women s Guild. She was also a member of the Roma Society. Gazella had been active with the former Christopher Columbus Auxiliary and of the former Dante Alighieri Auxiliary. She worked as a volunteer at a local soup kitchen and was recognized as a valuable volunteer. As pastimes, she enjoyed bowling, bingo, dancing and cooking. She is survived by three daughters, Elsie J. Falcone of Deerfield, Diana L. (John) Priselac of Alliance and Loretta (William) Offenbecher of Alliance; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Effie (Roy) Unkefer of Colton, CA; a brother, Dino Goleno of Wellsville, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Earl F. Peloso on October 1, 1974, whom she married on March 27, 1933; a son, Joseph B. Peloso; her parents, Egidio and Theresa (Medum) Goleno; two sisters, Edith Hall and Alberta Duke; and four brothers, Robert, Eli, Arthur and Bill Goleno; and a grandson, Steven Falcone. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
