Gary L. Borland's Obituary
Gary L. Borland, 59, of Alliance, died on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 6:10 a.m. at Oakhill Manor in Louisville. Born on February 16, 1950 in Alliance, he graduated in 1968 from Alliance High School and was a computer operator for Trans Union Corp. in Chicago, IL. Gary enjoyed playing the guitar and had a band in his younger years called The Rustics. His favorite artists were Ricky Nelson and Elvis. He is survived by a sister, Diana L. Linnemann of Rupert, ID; a niece, Lonnie Pettis; three great nephews and niece, Tim, Deven and Breanna of Henderson, NV; aunts and uncles, Marjorie (Charles) Porter, Patricia (Joseph) Virden and Janet (Robert) Borland all of Alliance and Robert and Shirley (Leo) Borland of Canton. Preceding him in death were his parents, Earl and Jenny (Chiporo) Borland; an aunt, Christina Sears; and uncles, Sam, Tom and Larry Chiporo and Robert and Leo Borland. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, November 30, 2009, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, November 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. L. Chris Martin of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
