Gail R. Johnson's Obituary
Gail R. Johnson, 67, of Alliance, died on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at 2:35 p.m. at home. He was born on December 1, 1940 in Douglas, WV, and lived in Alliance most of his adult life. A graduate of Mountaineer High School in Thomas, WV, he retired from the manufacturing industry, sales & shipping department, in 2004. Mr. Johnson was a member of the First Christian Church in Minerva. He is survived by three sons, Shawn M. (Jane) Johnson of Columbus, OH, Shan M. Johnson of Lisbon, OH and Scot M. Johnson of Alliance, OH; four grandchildren, Scot Dale, Emma Jane, Jenna Loraine, and Abigail Elizabeth; five sisters, Mildred (Floyd) Davis of Thomas WV, Winnie (Gary) Gibbs of Marietta, GA, Sharon (Wallace) Hancock of Lugoff, SC, Elizabeth (Dale) Kennedy of Fairmount, WV and Margaret (Don) Fowler of Greenville, SC; two brothers, Fred Johnson of Thomas WV and Robert Johnson of Owings, MD; three sisters-in-law, Renata Quattro of Parkersburg WV, Wanda Johnson of Dunkirk, MD and Ellen Viars of Accokeek, MD; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Frederick and Ruth (Long) Johnson, Sr.; and three brothers, Thomas Allen Johnson, twin brother, Dale D. Johnson and Harvey James Johnson. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Ralph Norman of the First Christian Church in Minerva, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
