G. Dean Potts' Obituary
G. Dean Potts, 73, of Alliance, died on Sunday, October 5, 2003, at his home. Born in Alliance on March 12, 1930, he was a lifelong resident and graduated from Alliance High School. Mr. Potts was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and had retired as a crane operator for the former Bliss Company of Salem. He was a member of the Pine Lake Christian Church in Sebring. He loved sports, golf, and antique cars and was a member of Sleepy Hollow Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Mason) Potts whom he married on Aug. 10, 1957; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Helen Potts of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ada (Dennis) Potts; and two brothers, Harry C. Potts and William L. Potts. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 8, 2003, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Rev.Vernon Russell will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
