Fred E. Shonk Sr.'s Obituary
Fred E. Shonk, Sr., 80, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2:15 am at McCrea Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Alliance.
Born on February 20, 1935 in Alliance, Ohio to Guy and Ida (Green) Shonk, he lived in Alliance for all of his life.
Fred was member of First Church of God and retired from Alliance Drop Forge.
After retirement, he worked with Zion Church Builders for ten years, building churches all over the U.S.
Fred enjoyed bowling, photography and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Julie (Dave) Jellison of Alliance and Joan L. (Jim) Rastetter of Sebring; his son, Freddie Shonk, Jr. of Alliance; three grandsons, Randy Jellison, Andrew Jellison and Stephen Rastetter; two granddaughters, Taylor Rastetter and Ashley Rastetter; three great-grandchildren, Channing Jellison, Keeley Jellison and Piper Jellison; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, Ed Shonk.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at First Church of God. His Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Pastor Randall Jellison, officiating.
