Frank J. "Pug" Kron's Obituary
Frank J. "Pug" Kron, 84, of Alliance, died on Sunday, September 28, 2003, at 8:39 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. A lifelong Alliance resident, born on April 2, 1919, he attended St. Joseph Elementary School and Alliance High School and was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Mr. Kron, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, served with the 95th Signal Battalion in Iran and was in charge of communications. He retired in 1984 from Cornwell Tools in Mogador where he was employed as an industrial engineer. He was a member of the American Legion Post 166, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, and the B.P .0. Elks #467. He is survived by his family whom he enjoyed spending his time with, including his wife, Amy (Otteson) Kron, they were married on September 27, 1941; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Ackerman of Alliance; a granddaughter and her spouse, Renee and John Hall of Alliance; a grandson, Robert Ackerman II of Beloit; four great- grandchildren, Johnathan and Jacob Hall, Robert Ackerman III and Madison Ackerman; a sister, Ann Karper; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Teckla (Handzel) Kron; three sisters, Mary Mitchell, Elizabeth Brandani, and Sister M. Anne Catherine, O.P; and four brothers, John Kron, Jake Kron, Joe Kron, and Andy Kron. There will be informal calling hours at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 30, 2003, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. J. Patrick Manning as celebrant. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
