Frank Conny's Obituary
Frank W. Conny, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed on to eternal life on Sunday, May 29, 2005. He was born on September 11, 1917, in Canton, Ohio, to Anthony and Beatrice (DiCato) Conny. Frank grew up in Sebring, Ohio, and was educated in the Sebring schools. He was a World War II veteran who saw combat action in four battles as the Commander of a tank crew in the Pacific theatre, serving in the 37th Division of the United States Army. Upon return from the war, Frank began employment at the Stanford Company in Sebring, and involved himself in community affairs, especially working with the youth in sporting and athletic organizations. In 1956, he married the love of his life, Mary (Corbisella) Conny, and their son Gary was born in 1959. Frank was a charter member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church in Alliance. He co-owned one of the first franchised Dairy Isle Ice Cream stores in the 1950 s, and he enjoyed serving the community. He began employment with the Babcock and Wilcox Corporation in the 1960 s, and retired from there in 1983. He is survived by his wife Mary, and son Gary, as well as brothers, Michael, Henry, and Anthony of Alliance, as well as brothers, James, Donald, and sisters, Mary and Sandy of Sebring. Frank also leaves many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and good friends like Bob Aman, who was a second son to him. Everyone appreciated Frank s kindness and his beautiful smile. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, sister Anne and brother Nick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Anne Catholic Church, 323 S. 15th Street, in Sebring, on Friday, June 3rd at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Dyer as celebrant, and Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht and Rev. Fr. Terrance Hazel, con-celebrating Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Entombment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will be conducted at the Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements are being handled by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. "A life well lived by a good and gracious man should be celebrated."
