Francis E. "Fran" Godfrey's Obituary
Francis E. "Fran" Godfrey, 45, of Alliance, died on Friday, January 18, 2002, at 7:06 p.m. at the Alliance Community Hospital Emergency Room. Born in Alliance on December 2, 1956, he was a resident of the city for all of his life. He had previously been employed at Alliance Steel as a press operator, where he had been an employee for nine years. He is survived by five sisters, Darlene Godfrey of Alliance, Eva Mann of Canton, Rose Marie Bradley of Cameron, W.Va, Susette McCord of Alliance, and Michele Bickley of Alliance; a brother, Arthur Godfrey of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eva (Mulinix) Godfrey; a sister Judith Metze; and two brothers, Robert Thomas Tor and James Ray Godfrey. Graveside services were held at Alliance City Cemetery under the direction of the Arnold Funeral Home. The Rev. James White officiated. There were no calling hours. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
