Frances A. Pinkerton's Obituary
Frances A. Pinkerton, 83, of Alliance, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 10:25 p.m. at Memory Lane in Crandall Medical Center, Sebring, OH. Born on February 18, 1930 in Alliance, she lived in Alliance all of her life, and was a 1948 graduate of Alliance High School. Frances was a life long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, their Altar & Rosary Society, and sang in the church choir since 1949. She also sang in the Senior Choir at the Senior Center since 1992. Frances worked at the former B&W Keystone Plant for several years and then managed the Christopher Columbus Pizza for over 21 years before her retirement. Mrs. Pinkerton was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1950. Most important to Frances was that she enjoyed being a housewife. She liked working crossword puzzles, word find puzzles and loved to play cards & pinochle, but especially loved her time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her three daughters, Beverly A. (Walt) Mummert of Alliance, Lynne L. (James) Thomas of Salem and Kathy J. (Duane) Frantz of Tryon, NC; three sons, Robert A. (Joann) Pinkerton of Alliance, James J. (Sherri) Pinkerton of Alliance and Richard F. (Mary Woods) Pinkerton of Canton South; ten grandchildren, Walter Mummert III, Dawn Mummert, Lauren Platten, Austin Hamilton, Nicole Frantz, Mark Frantz, Douglas Pinkerton, Daniel Pinkerton, Jill Pinkerton and Ashlyn Pinkerton; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jane Stanley of Alliance; a brother, Albert (Sue) Rogel of Rancho Cordova, CA; a sister-in-law, Josephine Rogel of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard E. Pinkerton on March 14, 2007, whom she married on May 1, 1954; her parents, John and Mary (Sever) Rogel; two sisters, Angela Phillips and Rose Amabeli; and three brothers, John Rogel, Joseph Rogel and Frank Rogel. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, December 22, 2013, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and also on Monday, from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., the time of a Prayer Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
