Fanchon J. Liber's Obituary
Fanchon J. Liber, 91, of Alliance, died on Friday, November 8, 2002, at 6:55 p.m. at Crandall Medical Center. She was born in Milan, Michigan on April 30, 1911, and had lived most of her life in the Alliance area. Mrs. Liber was a graduate of Bowling Green State University, and had attended Mt. Union College. A retired 4th grade teacher at Washington Township Elementary School, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she served as organist for 27 years. She was past president of the Alliance Music Study Club, the Alliance Women's Club and was a member of the Eastern Star, serving a term as Grand Organist for the State of Ohio. She is survived by her four children, John D. Liber of Cleveland, Judith Liber of Como, Italy, Thomas C. Liber of Canton, and William R. Liber of North Canton; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, John R. Liber on February 22, 1964, (they were married on August 22, 1937); her parents, Charles and Mable (Shipman) DeVerna; and a sister, Pauline Emmel. Friends may call at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 13, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon. with the Rev. Frank Gross Jr. officiating. Pastor Herb Games, a friend of the family, will also participate in the service. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
