Evelyn A. Sell's Obituary
Evelyn A. Sell, 84 of Alliance, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2003, at 1 :50 p.m. at her home. Born in Fairhope, OH, on November 26, 1918, she was a 1936 graduate of Louisville High School. In 1937, she began working at Ben Heggy's Candy Company in Canton and then came to Alliance in 1940 when Ben Heggy opened a new store in Alliance. She and her husband Jack later purchased Heggy's, which they owned and operated for many years. Mrs. Sell was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society and the Catholic Women's Club. She was a member of the Alliance Women's Club, the Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Alliance Democrat Club. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Patricia and Eric Croskey, Susan and Mark Partusch, Michael and Donna Sell, and Jane and Jeffrey Jakmides; grandchildren, Amy and Mark Croskey, Michael, Laura and John Partusch, Sean (Angie) Sell, Ryan, Christopher, Megan and Patrick Sell, and John, Jeffrey, Julie, and Janie Jakmides; and a sister, Bernice Nuske. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sell on December 21, 1999, (they were married on May 29, 1946); her parents, Homer and Cora (Schlott) Hutt; a grandson, Matthew Sell; and two brothers, Paul Hutt and Wade Hutt. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 20, 2003, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Thursday, August 21, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. J. Patrick Manning and the Rev. Fr. Ralph Friedrich, as celebrants. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
