Evelyn June Akins' Obituary
Evelyn June Akins, 75, of Alliance, died on Saturday, August 7, 2004, at 10:28 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. ~ Born in Kent, OH, on June 10, 1929, she lived most of her life in Alliance. Mrs. Akins attended the Sebring Nazarene Church and retired from Alliance Community Hospital where she had been a cook. June enjoyed sewing, crafts, playing with her grandchildren and taking care of her family. She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Bob) Lahmers of East Sparta, Bev (Kim) Bugh of Canton and Brenda (Steve) Oldfield of Alliance; three sons, Bob (Sharon) Akins of Kensington, Randy (Chrissy) Akins of Homeworth and Larry Akins of Alliance; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Akins of Beloit and Hazel Lenigar of Sebring; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Akins of 55 years on Dec. 25, 2002 (they were married on June 17, 1947); her parents, Jesse Brumbaugh and Gladys (Boone) Brumbaugh Fedor; two sisters, Ann Luchin and Alice Rubright; and one brother, Paul Brumbaugh. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Mike Kimble officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
