Eugene A. "Yutch" Saus' Obituary
Eugene A. "Yutch" Saus, 76, of Alliance, died on Monday, March 22, 2004 at 12:27 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. A lifelong resident of Alliance, Mr. Saus was born on July 4, 1927. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion, Post 166 for 45 years. He retired in 1989 after working for 42 years for the Ohio Edison Co. and was a member of O.E. Retiree Club. Mr. Saus volunteered at the American Red Cross Blood Bank from 1989 until 2000 and he gave over 20 gallons of blood since 1960. He also volunteered for Meals on Wheels from 1989-2000. He was president of Carnation Community Credit Union for many years. Yutch is survived by his wife Lois A. (Rife) Saus (whom he married on May 26, 1951); children, David (Sharon) Saus of North Canton, Dan (Donna) Saus of Big Pine Key, Florida, Kathryn Clinton and Gerald (Amy) Saus, both of Alliance; two granddaughters, Alexis Clinton of Alliance and Emily Saus of North Canton; and a sister, Ethel Kleiver of Alliance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Anna (Zbranek) Saus. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
