Ethel Mae (Haines) Ray Wursthorn's Obituary
Ethel Mae (Haines) Ray Wursthorn, 91, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2007, at 12:20 p.m. at Bel Air Senior Living Community, following a long battle with Parkinson s disease. She was born on January 19, 1916 in Minerva, and lived in Alliance most of her life, graduating from Minerva High School. She was a member of the Beechwood Christian Church. Ethel retired from the Alliance Auto Club after 27 years as a tour guide. Mrs. Wursthorn was a member of the Daughters of America and the Alliance Women s Club. Ethel is survived by her four daughters, Janet (Donald) Hoopes of Alliance, Sandra (Ed) Hillman of Alliance, Linda MacMillan of Akron and Debra (Roger) Livelsberger of Bucyrus; three sons, Larry (Glenna) Ray Jr., Paul (Sherri) Ray and David (Bev) Ray all of Alliance; thirty grandchildren; thirty-plus great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; a sister, Florence Geib of Copeland Oaks, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Sarah (Shullenberger) Haines; her first husband, Lawrence C. Ray Sr.; her second husband, Adam Wursthorn; a daughter, Leona Mauk; two sons, Andrew Ray and Floyd Ray; a grandson, Joel Mauk; a granddaughter, Heidi Livelsberger; three sisters; and two brothers. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Andrew Higle of Beechwood Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
