Esther V. Farmer's Obituary
Esther V. Farmer, 95, of Solon, Ohio and a former resident of Alliance, died on Saturday, August 6, 2005, at 9:25 p.m., at the home of her son. Esther was born in Alliance on June 21, 1910, and had lived most of her life in Alliance. She was a member of the First Immanuel United Church of Christ. Mrs. Farmer is survived by a son, Richard (Evelyn) Farmer of Solon, whom she lived with for the past 36 years; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Farmer Sr., on April 24, 1969, (they were married in 1930); a son, John C. Farmer Jr.; her parents, Jacob and Anna (Bergmann) Flickinger; four sisters, Irene Flickinger, Berdine Flickinger, Laura Armstrong, and Freda Newton; two brothers, Jacob and Albert Flickinger; and two half brothers, John and Carl Sparren. Funeral services will be held at Highland Memorial Park Chapel on Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Neal Mann officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park. There will be no calling hours. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
