Erla M. Amos' Obituary
Erla M. Amos, 94, of Alliance, died Tuesday, January 21, 2003, at 8:10 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Salem on February 23, 1908, she had been a resident of the Alliance area since 1938. She had been residing at Bel Air Senior Living Community. Mrs. Amos was a member of the Pine Lake Christian Church in Sebring. She was the retired co-owner of the former Amos Cleaners on West Main Street, and belonged to the Alliance Senior Citizens Center. She had helped many ladies in the community with crocheting and sewing projects. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Schaufler of Gales Ferry, CT and Linda Stewart of Cincinnati, OH and their spouses; three sons, Rolland Amos of Severn, MD, Richard Amos of Carol Stream, IL, and David Amos of Homeworth and their spouses; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, H. W. Amos in 1967; her parents, Norman J. and Bertha M. (Bricker) Hill; three brothers, Russell, Forrest, and Norman Hill; and two grandchildren. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, January 25, 2003, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, January 25, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. with Vernon E. Russell, Senior Minister of Pine Lake Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
