Erik Harris' Obituary
Erik Harris, 28, of Lexington, Kentucky and formerly of Alliance, Ohio died on Sunday, August 27, 2006, in Lexington, Kentucky. Eric was one of 49 people who lost their lives when Comair Flight 5191 crashed in Kentucky. He was born in Alliance on September 15, 1977, and lived most of his life in Alliance before moving to Morehead, KY in 1998. Erik was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a 1996 graduate of West Branch High School, where he played varsity football and later from Morehead University. He was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity, and enjoyed golf, softball, and football. He was employed at Galls, a public safety equipment maker, which is based in Lexington, Kentucky. Erik is survived by his fianc e, Toni Holder; his parents, Rick and Karen (Common) Harris; two sisters, Annette Smith and Emilee Harris; a brother, Adam Harris; a brother-in-law, Jason Smith; his grandmother, Netta Common; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Frank Common; grandparents, Clark and Wilda Harris; uncles, Mickey and Dickie Common; and a cousin, James Common. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, from 6:00 -9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
