Eric H. "Mickey" Scott's Obituary
Eric H. “Mickey” Scott, 62, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 8:05 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born on November 14, 1952 in East Meadow, New York to Jack and Cornelia Scott, and had lived in Alliance for the past 25 years.
Eric was a graduate of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of New York and was a member of St. Agnes Cathedral of New York.
He was a member of the Junior Blue Jackets of America and the American Training Corps.
Eric was an ASE Certified Master Technician and was employed at Larry's Automotive Med Center as an Auto Technician, retiring in 2009. He was known there by all as “Dr. Scott”.
He enjoyed traveling, catering and spending time with his family. He was also a Collector of Lionel Trains and Coca-Cola memorabilia.
Survivors include his two daughters, Christine (Latray) Porter of Alliance and Kristen Myers of Canfield; five sons, Eric H. (Mary) Scott II of Alliance, Michael (Apryl) Scott of Akron, Kenneth Scott of Alliance, Cody Myers of Canfield, and Cameron Myers of Canfield; four brothers, Jack Scott of Seguin, TX, Morris Scott of Jonesboro, GA, Don Scott of Jackson Heights, NY, and Anthony Scott of Rockville Centre, NY; five sisters, Vanessa Prophet of Rockville Centre, NY, Cornelia McManus of Newburgh, NY, Sheryl Scott of Columbia, SC, Crystal Scott of Rockville Centre, NY, and Robin Scott of Akron; three sister-in-laws, Kay Scott of Seguin, TX, Margie Scott of Jonesboro, GA, and Belinda Atkins Williams of NY; three brother-in-laws, Jack Prophet of Rockville Centre, NY, Terence McManus of Newburgh, NY, and Kevin Stephenson of Bay Shore, NY; twenty Grandchildren, Areana, Sayvaun, Latray, Diyanara, Caysaun, Keyvaya, Nygel, Keely, Eric, III, Mickayla, Traveon, Christopher, Shyla, Chloe, Michael, II, Drew, Korbin, Isabella H., Isabella N., and Alyssa; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death was the mother of his children, Susan Scott Lewis; his father, Jack Scott; and two brother-in-laws, Grady Major and Keith Jones.
The family will receive friends at Alliance City Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 10:30 am - 11:00 am.
His Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Rev. Jonathon Dodson officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
His family will offer the repass at Comfort Inn Banquet Hall immediately following the services.
