Emmit Eugene Cline's Obituary
Emmit Eugene Cline, 73, of Beloit, died on Monday, September 18, 2006, at 2:05 a.m. at his residence following a month illness with cancer. Mr. Cline was born on September 26, 1932 in New Matamoras, OH, and lived in the Beloit area most of his life. A US Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Emmit was employed as a security guard for Securitas Security of Akron. Mr. Cline was a member of the Deerfield American Legion. Several of his hobbies were collecting die cast model cars, square dancing, and playing cards. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bertha (Marty) Cline, whom he married on May 7, 1955; six children, Sharon Cline of Cleveland, Charlotte Stephens of Caldwell, David (Yong) Cline of Milford, KS, Dennis (Bonnie) Cline of Alliance, Barbara (Richard) Goodhart of Summerfield, and Tina (Jim) Scott of Louisville; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madelyn Weddle and Waneta Matthews, both of Woodsfield; and several nieces and nephews. Emmit was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Mary Hazel (Bonam) Cline; a sister, Maryland Cline; and a brother, Robert Cline. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, September 21, 2006 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Jeffrey G. Davis officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
