Elizabeth F. "Lizzy" (Middleton) Smith's Obituary
Elizabeth F. "Lizzy" (Middleton) Smith, 82, of Alliance, died on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 9:25 a.m. at Alliance Community Care Center. She was born on October 2, 1925 in Buckhorn, Ohio and lived in Alliance since 1944. Elizabeth retired from Marlboro Manufacturing, where she was employed as a machine operator. Mrs. Smith enjoyed gardening and watching the Indians and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, Betty Jean Smith and Beverly Handschin both of Alliance; a son, Donald Smith of Alliance; five granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; a step-grandson; a brother, Emmitt Middleton of Ironton; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, John Smith on October 25, 1983 whom she married on August 15, 1944; her parents, James P. and Mollie (Holbrook) Middleton; three sisters; and six brothers; four half-sisters; and two half-brothers. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, May 2, 2008 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, May 2, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Don Bickley officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
