Elizabeth Ann (Carli) Bolog's Obituary
Elizabeth Ann (Carli) Bolog, 94, of Alliance, who led a full and blessed life, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 8:35 am at Crandall Medical Center. She was born on September 16, 1919 in Alliance, Ohio to August and Maria (Luzzani) Carli and lived in Alliance for all of her life. A 1938 graduate of Alliance High School, she had helped with their class Reunion Committee. Betty was the Secretary / Treasurer for the Alliance Zone Cab Company, A&M Transit Lines and Carnation Charter Coach Co. She was listed in "Who's Who" in their Secretarial Division. Betty was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had been a greeter at St. Joseph for many years. She was faithful in her time with the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. An avid bowler, she had previously been a member and former officer of the Swinging 60's Bowling League. She was also active in the Dante, Christopher Columbus, and Alpine Trentino clubs. Betty and her husband Frank were honored by the Carnation Festival Board as the recipients the 2012 Grand Parade Marshall Award. Betty is survived by her husband, Frank K. Bolog, whom she married on June 24, 1940; her daughter, Patti Schaefer of Alliance, OH; son, Frank A. "Buddy" Bolog of Alliance, OH; six grandchildren, Tommy Schaefer, Stefani Schaefer, Sarah Elizabeth Bolog, Ann Marie Bolog Bari, Frank "Ben" Bolog, and Brad Allan Bolog; five great-grandchildren, Race, Siena Bella, Vivian Elizabeth, Holden and Ashar; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, August Carli, mother, Maria Carli, and three brothers, William J. Bill Carli, Forest R. Dino Carli and Al Carli. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski as celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
