Eleanor Jurovcik 's Obituary
Eleanor Irene (Ceraolo) Jurovcik, 91, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at home.
Born on August 29, 1925 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Gaetano and Mary (Minnitti) Ceraolo, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.
A 1943 graduate of Martins Ferry High School, she also attended Stark State College.
Eleanor was member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, where she was a member of Altar & Rosary Society and Mary’s Widows.
Eleanor was employed as a Bookkeeper at Alliance Co-Op and retired from Morgan Engineering Co. She was also a member of the Alliance Senior Center and their chorus.
Eleanor was a volunteer for 31 years at Alliance Community Hospital. She was former member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary. She was a Hospice volunteer for 13 years with Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice Assoc.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed loom knitting & puzzles. She will greatly miss playing cards with her dear friends.
Survivors include son, Joseph J. (Elyse) Jurovcik Jr. of Alliance, OH; daughter, Christine A. Jurovcik of Alliance, OH; seven grandchildren, Justin J. (Sara) Jurovcik, Joshua M. (Mary Kay) Jurovcik, Catherine Jurovcik, Andrew Jurovcik, Michael (Jemima) Jurovcik, Molly A. Corrigan, and Stephanie R. Corrigan; five great-grandchildren, Miranda, Aubree, Leah, Alexander, and Eleanor "Nora"; a niece and nephew of whom she was very fond of, Karen (Bill) Weber of Naples, FL and Frank (Darla) Franko of Mishawaka, IN; and several other nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Joseph John Jurovcik, Sr., whom she married on May 26, 1951 and died on February 2, 2003; parents, Gaetano and Mary Ceraolo; two sisters, Rosemary (Lou) Musante and Frances (Frank) Franko; and a brother, John (Jean) Ceraola.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
