Eleanor May (Dietry) Grandon's Obituary
Eleanor May (Dietry) Grandon, 74, of Alliance, died on Monday, May 19, 2003, at 10:44 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born in Doylestown on September 22, 1928, attended the School of the Deaf in Columbus, and had lived in Alliance for 30 years. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was also a member at the Akron Club of the Deaf. Mrs. Grandon enjoyed raising her grandchildren and the celebrations at the Alliance Towers with her family and friends. Eleanor is survived by her husband, William Grandon, Jr., (they were married on September 20, 1952 and celebrated 50 years of marriage); two daughters, Susan and Bob Westfall of Akron and Carolyn and Joe Leone of Alliance; two sons, Harold and Anna Grandon of Alliance and Mark & Lori Grandon of Sebring; 12 grandchildren, Scott, Jenifer, Jerry, Kelly, Monica, Harold Jr., Michele, Rachael, Ryan, Kristina, Jacqulyn, and Jordan; two sisters, Margaret Woods of Wadsworth and Agnes Todd of Ft. Wayne, IN; one brother, Ed Dietry of Doylestown; close friend, Peggy Zeppernick of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis J. and Anna J. Dietry; a grandson, David; a sister, Cecil; and three brothers, Ted, Joseph and Don. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 21, 2003, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, May 22, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
