Eileen (Frank) Dugan Caruso's Obituary
Eileen (Frank) Dugan Caruso, 87, of Alliance, died on Sunday, February 15, 2009, at 11:35 a.m. at Community Care Center. Born on October 31, 1921 in Alliance, Eileen lived in Alliance all of her life and graduated from Alliance High School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and their Altar & Rosary Society. Eileen spent many years as a cook at St. Joseph s Catholic School. She was also employed by the Alliance City Schools and Alliance Health Center. She served as an Avon Lady for over 30 years. Mrs. Caruso was a member of the Funtastics and the Alliance Senior Center. In her past-time, she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and dancing. Eileen was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Mount Union College Purple Raiders. She is survived three daughters, Frances Hamby of Alliance, Catherine (Calvin) Smith of Alliance and Mary (Don) Hoy of Alliance; four sons, James (Victoria) Dugan of Alliance, Michael Dugan of Alliance, Patrick Dugan of Alliance and Joseph Dugan of Flowerybranch, GA; six additional children to whom she was a foster mother; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude (Fred) Kaltenbach of Winter Springs, FL and Rosemary Sollazzo of Alliance; three brothers, Urban (Louise) Frank of Alliance, Ronald (Gerry) Frank of Alliance and Warren (Linda) Frank of Alliance; many nieces and nephews; and special companion Vince Cotton of Alliance. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Eugene "Red" Dugan in 1974; her second husband, Frank Caruso in 1990; a son, Gerald Dugan in 1969; a grandson, Charles Lee Dugan in 1996; a great grandson, Jacob Tyler Dugan in 1998; her parents, Maurice F. and Margaret A. (Schieser) Frank; two sisters, Christina Kaltenbach and Clara Kinser; and four brothers, Lester, Norbert, Orval and Gerald Frank. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
