Edward J. Waskivich's Obituary
Edward Joseph Waskivich, 86, of Alliance, died on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 7:50 a.m., at Altercare of Alliance. He was born on May 27, 1924 in South Fork, PA and lived in Alliance all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A veteran of World War II, he served our country in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 50. Mr. Waskivich was employed at various companies throughout his life, including the Alliance Street Dept. and Ross Roofing Co. In his past-time, he enjoyed fishing and loved to watch sport programs. He is survived by his a son, Joseph Waskivich of Sebring; two grandchildren, Vicky Waskivich and Edward Waskivich; a sister, Anne Snyder of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a son, Edward Waskivich on April 6, 1964; his parents, Joseph and Catherine (Fruncek) Waskivich; 6 sisters, Mary (infant), Edna Coveleski, Estella Govern, Helen Knam, Blanche Catich, and Nellie Burns; and a brother, Joseph (infant). A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, November 15, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
