Edward H. Moore, Jr.'s Obituary
Edward H. Moore, Jr., 80, of Alliance, died on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 4:49 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on October 31, 1928 in Canton, Ohio, he lived in Alliance most all of his life. Ed was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a graduate of Alliance High School, class of 1948. A veteran of the Armed Forces, he served our country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from B & W Tubular Products, where he was employed as a Crane Follower for 25 years. In his past-time, he enjoyed wood crafting, gardening & watching birds. He especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan (Zucchero) Moore, whom he married on July 11, 1953; two daughters, Lynn (Michael) Zamagias of Alliance, and Marie (Matthew) Trainer of Atwater; three sons, Ronald (Sally) Moore, Randy (Diana) Moore, and Rick (Anne-Marie) Moore, all of Alliance; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward H. and Mabel (Wood) Moore; a sister, Shirley Eggleston; and a brother, Clyde Moore. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, December 8, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht, as celebrant. Interment, with military honors provided by the Salem Amvets VFW Honor Guard, will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
