Edward Joseph Egan's Obituary
Edward Joseph Egan, 71, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 7:52 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on November 25, 1936 in Chicago, IL, and had lived in Alliance since 1951. A graduate of Alliance High School and Mount Union College, Edward was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Following his career as a teacher at Alliance High School, Edward was the football and wrestling coach. He later became the assistant principal, principal and then the assistant superintendent at Lake High School. He was currently a realtor with Union Station for almost ten years. Mr. Egan was a member of the BPO Elks, the Knights of Columbus, the Moose and the Berlin Lake Association. He enjoyed boating, skiing and golf. Edward is survived by his loving partner, Diana Ayers; four sons, Peter J. Egan of Alliance, Daniel E. Egan of Alliance, John T. (Debra Bonilla) Egan of Alliance and Thomas V. (Laila) of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Vincent Boles, Noah Sweitzer, Vivian Egan and Samantha Bonilla; three sisters, Margaret M. Egan of Alliance, Mary Frances Peterson of Palm Springs, CA and Joan C. Egan of Roseville, CA; a brother, Robert E. (Cheryl) Egan of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Vivian (McGuire) Egan; parents, Edward S. and M. Frances (McGuire) Egan; a sister, Kathleen A. Dobrinick; and two brothers, Thomas M. and John E. "Jack" Egan. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
