Edna I. Ungaro's Obituary
Edna Irene Ungaro, 96, of Alliance, died on Monday, May 23, 2011, at 4:50 a.m. at Altercare of Alliance. She was born on June 12, 1914 in Dillonvale, OH and lived in Alliance most of her life, attending Alliance Public Schools. She had retired from Alliance Rubber Works after 40 years of service. Edna was of the Protestant faith and spent most of her time as a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Outside of her home, she was a former member of the V.F.W Auxiliary and was an avid bowler. Survivors include two brothers, Sam (Stella) Donohoe and James Donohoe, both of Alliance; a daughter-in-law, Lorraine May of Hawaii; a granddaughter; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces & nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Guy A. Ungaro on May 22, 2007, whom she married on January 31, 1959; a son, John "Jack" May; her parents, Charles R. and Rose (Ruble) Donohoe; two sisters, Eleanor George and Edith Fisher; and two brothers, George Donohoe and Charles Donohoe. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, May 27, 2011 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Herbert Smith, officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Altercare for the wonderful care given to Edna during her stay with them.
