Edith (Cironi) Profeta's Obituary
Edith Mary Margaret Profeta, 87, of Alliance, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 7:30 a.m. at Home Sweet Home. Born on December 5, 1925 in VanVoorhis, PA, she lived in Alliance since 1929. A member of Regina Coeli Roman Catholic Church, she was a graduate of Alliance High School. Edith retired from the Alliance Manufacturing Co. after 33 years of service, where she was employed as an assembler. She was a member of the Alliance Manufacturing/Geni Retirees, United Steelworkers Retirees and the Alliance Senior Center. In her past-time, she enjoyed bowling, traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She loved football and watching Ohio State Buckeyes win, and also was a fan of the University of Mt. Union Football teams. Survivors include two brothers, Richard Cironi and Daniel (Joanne) Cironi, both of CA; several nieces and nephews; E. Sunny Earley, her longtime caregiver and friend; and Jackie Bennett & family of Home Sweet Home. Preceding her in death was her husband, Raymond Profeta on June 3, 1995, whom she married on August 7, 1948; her parents, Luca and Mary (Tatone) Cironi; four sisters, Louise Gallo, Frances Christler, Viola Talbott and Arlene Cironi; and a brother, Paul Cironi. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, April 22, 2013, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Roman Catholic Church on Monday, April 22, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Joseph Ruggieri as celebrant. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
