Earl Roy Marckel's Obituary
Earl Roy Marckel, 91, of Alliance, died on Tuesday, January 02, 2007, at 3:43 a.m., at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on April 4, 1915 in Moultrie, Ohio he had lived in the Alliance area for most of his life. Earl retired from the Alliance Manufacturing Company, as a Superintendent after 43 years of service. Mr. Marckel was an active member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ where he served on many committees. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia L. Shilling of Alliance; a son, James E. (Donna) Marckel of Findlay, Ohio; four grandchildren, Sheri (Bob) Hatherill, Ted (Mindy) Shilling, Jason (Amy) Marckel, and Julie (Brock) Stull; three great-grandchildren, Dustin Hatherill, Abby Hatherill, and Brian Shilling; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Pauline Marie (Reynolds) Marckel on February 7, 2002 whom he married on February 14, 1935; his parents, Lorin and Mae (Geiselman) Marckel; step-mother, Helen Sanor Marckel; son-in-law, Harry E. Shilling; and a brother, Carl Marckel. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2007, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Neal Mann of First Immanuel United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
