E. Maye Morrow's Obituary
E. Maye Morrow, 96, of Alliance, died on Saturday, May 22, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. at Altercare of Alliance where she had resided for the past eight years. She was born in Palermo, OH, on October 10, 1907 and was a graduate of Alliance High School and the Wilcox Commercial College of Cleveland. Maye was employed as secretary and bookkeeper at Manhatton Cleaners for 45 years, working there for three generations of owners. After retirement, she moved to Lehigh Acres, Florida for twelve years, returning to Alliance in 1981. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She is survived by four nieces, Patricia Ross of Alliance, Marlene Helman of Alliance, Judith Lab of Louisville and Kay King of Alliance; a nephew, William Baird of Jay, OK; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews and one great-great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Morrow, on March 16, 1976, (they were married on February 25, 1930); an infant daughter, Gretchen; an infant son, Philip; her parents, James and Laura (Sell) Brooks; and two sisters, Grace Baird and Erma Helman. The family will receive friends at Sharer- Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 25, 2004, from 10:00 - 11 :00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at 11 :00 a.m. with Pastor Joel Harriman, Rev. Lee Grosh, and Pastor David Cosma officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
