Drewsilla Riggins' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Drewsilla Bryant Riggins. She was granted her Angel wings and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where she passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024.
Drewsilla was born December 8, 1947 to the late Wilmer Bryant Sr. and the late Sadie Mae Bryant. She was preceded in death by three brothers: TJ Kish, Ray Bryant, and Edward (Woody) Bryant; five sisters: Jessica Miller Forrest, Elmaree Wilmington, Lola Hosenbackez, Deborah Bryant, and Elaine Bryant, two nephews: Tommy Yates, and Jefffrey Bryant.
Drewsilla is survived by one daughter: Marlene Kennedy, three sisters: Lavenia Larsuel of Alliance, Dr. Kitty (Larry) Malone of Atlanta, GA, and Dr. HaZelle (Hugh) Seay of Las Vegas, NV., two brothers: Wilmer Jr. (Lenora) of Tampa, FL, and Chester (Chet) Bryant of Alliance, and a special grandson Michael Larsuel, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Drewsilla was born and raised in Alliance and a graduate of Alliance High School. She immediately relocated to Detroit, MI., and secured a position as the top Executive Secretary at General Motors Corporation. She retired early due to her disability, and she returned to Alliance.
However, despite her limitations as a retired domestic homemaker, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was kind, hilarious, helpful, silly, a funny comedian, and last but not least loving. Although Drewsilla is gone from here, she will forever live in our hearts.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
