Dorothy Woods' Obituary
Dorothy May (Lacher) Woods, 94, of Alliance, was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 11:07 am at Stone Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on March 6, 1930 in Alliance to Herman and Hazel T. (Loomis) Lacher, she lived in Alliance all of her life.
She was a 1948 graduate of Alliance High School, that same year on December 12, she married Lester Woods and they celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Dorothy was a member of Truth Baptist Church of Atwater.
Dorothy loved flower gardening, canning, square dancing, going to fairs and attending church.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Ben) Favazzo of Alliance; two sons, Glenn (Patricia) Woods of Alliance and Ronald (Ann) Woods of O'Fallon, MO; six grandchildren, Justin (Robin) Woods, Katie (Andy) Lubiewski, Scott (Jeannie Yi) Woods, Kurtis (Kristy) Woods, Katrina Woods and Kimberly (Alex) Tomiser; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Lacher of Minerva; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Lester E. Woods, whom she married on December 12, 1948 and who died on April 5, 2019; two brothers, Norman and Lester Lacher; and her parents.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Roy Teague, of Truth Baptist Church of Atwater, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
