Dorothy I. "Dottie" Haidet's Obituary
Dorothy I. "Dottie" Haidet, 87, of Alliance, died on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:12 p.m. at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Born on January 29, 1925 in Alliance, she lived in Alliance all of her life. She was a 1944 graduate of Alliance High School, where she was head majorette. She was a member of Atwater Congregational Church. Mrs. Haidet was a lifetime member and a former trustee of B.P.O. Elks Ladies Auxiliary, and participated in their degree team. Dorothy had enjoyed tap dancing since she was 3 years old. She line danced at the Senior Center and danced in the Fall Variety Show. Survivors include five daughters, Sherrie (Howard) Takeguma of Scottsdale, AZ, Terrie (Scott) Cully of Alliance, Pam Baier of Alliance, Lee (Scott deceased) Knauf of Louisville and Tami (Derek) Loudon of Alliance; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Foltz of Malvern; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Wilford "Toot" Haidet on April 6, 1995, whom she married on October 7, 1986; her parents, William M. and Clara L. (Banbury) Arnold; and two brothers, Willard Arnold and Alton Arnold, who was MIA during WW II. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe Peters officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum at Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to gratefully thank those who cared for Dorothy through the Palliative Care Unit at Aultman Hospital. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S.
