Dorothy Durm's Obituary
Dorothy Durm, 85, of Alliance, died on Monday, February 21, 2005, at 8:05 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Mrs. Durm was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on November 11, 1919, and lived in Alliance for 52 years. Dorothy was employed at Don Poncho s for 29 years and was affectionately known as "Grandma" to all. She also enjoyed camping. She is survived by a daughter, Sonja (Ken) Bogusz of Littleton, CO; a son, Arthur G. Durm of Alliance; four grandchildren, Aimee Birr, who was Dorothy s caregiver, Jaenna Adams, Cherie Holland, and Michael Hyatt; eight great grandchildren; her "other daughter", Virginia Wilkinson of Alliance; her longtime best friend, Mary Hoy of Alliance; a brother, George Smith of TX; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Drum on January 8, 1992, they were married on October 17, 1953. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Kimble of the Sebring First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
